Caring for your heart and lungs is of the utmost importance to us at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Cardiopulmonary surgery is only one stop on the road to recovery. Initial diagnostics and ongoing after-care are long-term ways to maintain your health.

The skilled and caring staff of our cardio-pulmonary department can manage your treatment, diagnostic procedures, pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gases, and metabolic assessments. Our diagnostic services are offered in our Cardiopulmonary and Non-Invasive Cardiology Laboratory at your doctor’s request, and include echocardiograms, electrocardiograms, event recorders, Holter monitoring, stress tests, and electroencephalograms.  Pediatric cardiology telemedicine services are also available, which allow diagnostics tests to be quickly transmitted to medical specialists at the University of Virginia Health System for interpretation.
