Will he make a good impression on his first date? Have we saved enough to send her to college? There's no end to the ways a parent can worry. But at Johnston Memorial Hospital, those worries won't start with your labor and delivery. We call our Women's Pavilion "state-of-the-heart," because it combines the most modern natal-care technology with our unparalleled personal attention.
Our warm, inviting birthing rooms are designed to provide both the utmost in comfort and the latest in technology. Our electronic monitoring system allows you to opt for privacy during labor, while your assigned nurse safely supervises the progress of your labor from the nursing station. If you prefer, your nurse will gladly remain at bedside throughout the labor process.
After birth, you and your infant will bond in a room specially designed for new mothers, where you may choose to rest alone while your baby is tended in our nursery, or to keep your new baby by your side for continual in-room care.
Our premature and special-needs babies are especially precious to us. Our Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is the only such facility in the area, and provides specialized 24-hour care for these treasured newborns.
We know how important it is to choose the right birthing center for you and your baby. We invite you to call us at (276) 676-7115 to schedule a visit to our facilities and to learn more about our Baby on the Way classes, photo services, breastfeeding classes, infant CPR training, and web nursery.
