For no other reason than they care, the Volunteers and Auxiliary of Johnston Memorial Hospital give unselfishly of their time and energy to help JMH provide the best possible healthcare for our community. 

In fact, nearly 135 dedicated volunteers donate more than 20,000 hours each year working in our gift shop, Court Street Café, CCU reception desk, surgery waiting area, endoscopy lab, and emergency department. They are uniquely committed to improving the comfort of your hospital stay, whether by acting as your patient representative, or by simply providing you with a word of encouragement or a fresh, new magazine.

As a non-profit, community-owned facility, we are deeply indebted to these enthusiastic, compassionate individuals who not only lift our spirits and inspire our hearts, but also reduce our out-of-pocket costs by $250,000 each year.

In addition to our volunteer team, we are also heavily supported by the JMH Auxiliary. This special, volunteer based business group serves our community by funding vital acquisitions and initiatives such as the blood mobile, scholarship program, room refurbishments, and overall facility improvements. We are honored to provide many services to our patients that have been made possible only through the thoughtfulness and generosity of our Auxiliary.
